Dormers offer great sources of natural light and are commonly installed in loft conversions.

Predominately constructed of timber rafters are commonly double bolted to take the weight of the Dormer construction, side walls are constructed to form the structure of the Dormer, with the back attached to the properties external wall. Cuts are then made in the timer rafters to install the window pane.

Depending on the position of the Dormer new floor joists can also be installed to support the structure.
